The Founders

Mario Enriquez & Eric Prato have a combined 25+ years in the food & beverage industry and a combined 10+ years specifically in the fine wine industry with experience in management, administration and operations.

Mario and Eric both retain expertise in fine wines and alcoholic beverages from around the world.  Mario is a Certified Sommelier accredited by the Court of Master Sommeliers (CMS) while Eric holds an Advanced Sommelier Diploma through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Mario also holds the Level 3 Advanced in Wine Certification from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET).

Meet The Founders

Originally from New Mexico, Mario developed his love of wine in his early twenties and has carried it throughout his many roles across the Food & Beverage Industry.  Through his experiences as a professional Sommelier and vast experience in Food & Beverage management across the country, Mario began to pursue the dream of owning his own establishment.  His passion for wine and love of sharing his experiences with others led to his pursuit of the Sommelier profession through the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Wine & Spirits Education Trust; resulting in roles as Wine Director and Sommelier of various reputable establishments across the country.   Most recently, Mario helped build the wine programs for 3-Michelin starred Joël Robuchon, 1-Michelin starred L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and other fine establishments in Las Vegas, Chicago, Colorado, and Arizona.

Eric grew up in northern California but has called Las Vegas home for over 15 years.  He attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas with the goal of furthering his knowledge of the Food & Beverage industry.  Through multiple roles in F & B, Eric fell in love with wine and became a Sommelier to engage his passion full time.  Eric’s favorite aspect of wine is the opportunity to learn about and explore wine with others and, thus, led to his inspiration for Garagiste Wine Room | Merchant.  Prior to opening Garagiste, Eric served as Head Sommelier at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Las Vegas.  Eric also retains over 20 years of related experience in the Food & Beverage Industry. Eric recently received his Advanced Sommelier Diploma through the Court of Master Sommeliers.
