Garagiste: | gǝ · räj · ēst // (noun)

1. a small-scale entrepreneurial wine-maker, especially one who does not adhere to the traditions of wine-making

Admittedly, we don’t make wine, we sell it, but the spirit of our name sits at the center of what we do.

Traditions aside, we believe that wine should be approachable, inviting and fun.

A neighborhood space and storefront, we strive to cultivate an environment that encourages exploration and discovery through the sharing of knowledge (and wonderful wine, of course.)

With a focus on small-production wines from regions off the beaten path, our list grows whenever we find something new that we’re excited about.

Meet Eric

With 24 years of hospitality experience under his belt, Eric got really into wine a decade ago and has never looked back.

Champion of easy-drinkers (Muscadet, anyone?) and proponent of approachability in the world of wine, Eric led the wine program at Thomas Keller's Bouchon Bistro prior to opening Garagiste — trading in his suit and tie for jeans and a t-shirt.

Eric took his Introductory Sommelier Course through the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2012 — passing the Certified exam just three months later — and was awarded his Advanced certification in 2019. He’s just been invited to sit for the Master Sommelier Diploma Examination.
